How the scam works

Anyone with a live ad can be sent one of these.

Four steps: you receive a suspicious message, click a link, enter your details on a fake page, and lose your money

A message arrives
By SMS, WhatsApp or email, from a number you do not know. It says a buyer has already paid for your ad.

A link to confirm
To get your money you must confirm delivery. The link opens a page that looks like Hazivo or a courier.

Your details are asked for
The page wants your card number and the code your bank texts you, supposedly to receive the payment.

The money goes the other way
With the code, the scammer takes money out of your account instead of putting any in.

Real Hazivo: Takes payment only for packages and boosts, at checkout inside the app or website.
A scammer: Says a buyer paid and sends you a link to collect the money.

Real Hazivo: Never asks for your card number, password or a code in chat, by phone or by email.
A scammer: Asks for your card number and the code your bank texts you.
Links
Real Hazivo: Every link goes to hazivo.ae.
A scammer: Links go to a look-alike address with extra words in it.
Apps
Real Hazivo: Apps come only from the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.
A scammer: Asks you to install an app or a file from a link.

If you received a message like this

You have lost nothing yet. Handle it like this.

Do not open the link, and do not enter card, bank or login details anywhere it leads.
Block the sender and delete the message.
Do not install any app or file the message sends you.
Tell us about it through the Report page so we can act on the number or link.

If you already tapped the link

Opening the link alone rarely does harm, but the page may look exactly like Hazivo. Do not sign in there.
If you typed a password, change it at once on hazivo.ae and on any site where you use the same one.
If you entered card details, call your bank and ask them to block the card.
Never pay anything unless you are inside the Hazivo app or website at checkout, or handing cash to a buyer in person.

Habits that keep you safe

Stay in Hazivo chat
Scammers want you in a private app where nobody can see what was said.
Take payment face to face
A screenshot of a transfer proves nothing. Check your own account first.
Share no card or code
Never give bank, card or one-time-code details to someone you met through an ad.
Choose your contact options
When you post, switch off call or WhatsApp if you do not want them on your ad.
